Crockpot Bread

Posted on February 9, 2026 by Admin

Oh heck yes—crockpot bread is a thing, and it’s cozy magic. 🍞
Here’s a super simple, no-oven, no-knead version that actually works.

Easy Crockpot Bread (No Knead)

You’ll need

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, helps browning/flavor)
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1½ cups warm water (not hot)

Optional add-ins

  • Herbs, garlic powder, cheese, seeds, etc.

How to make it

  1. Mix
    • Stir everything together in a bowl until it forms a sticky dough. No kneading needed.
  2. First rise
    • Cover the bowl and let it rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  3. Prep the crockpot
    • Line with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
    • Shape dough into a rough ball and place it inside.
  4. Cook
    • Cover the crockpot with a clean kitchen towel under the lid (this absorbs condensation).
    • Cook on HIGH for 2–2½ hours.
    • It’s done when the top looks dry and it sounds hollow when tapped.
  5. Optional crust upgrade
    • For a browner crust, pop it under the broiler for 3–5 minutes after cooking.
  6. Cool (important!)
    • Let it cool at least 30 minutes before slicing or it’ll be gummy.

What to expect

  • Soft, fluffy inside
  • Light crust (unless you broil it)
  • Perfect for butter, soup, or tearing apart like a feral bread goblin

If you want:

  • 🧀 cheesy bread
  • 🌿 herb & garlic
  • 🌾 whole wheat
  • 🍞 sandwich-style loaf

tell me your vibe and I’ll tweak it.
